JOHN S. BRYANT
DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY
John Bryant was born and raised in Morgan County, Alabama. He graduated from Falkville High School and went on to receive a BS degree in Economics, Political Science and School of Education from Auburn University. John then received his Juris Doctor degree from Birmingham School of Law. After completing undergraduate studies, John served as a teacher in Morgan County Schools and Hartselle High School. Retiring from education, John entered private practice in Cullman in 1998. Later that same year he joined the District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney. John was promoted to Deputy District Attorney in January 2005.
Member: Alabama State Bar Association, Alabama District Attorneys Association, Cullman County Bar Association and the National Child Support Association.
Primary Responsibilities: Supervision of the Child Support Enforcement Unit; Misdemeanor Docket and Felony prosecution.
ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY
Matthew Kimbrough grew up in Jefferson County, Alabama and graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 2008. Matthew attended the University of West Alabama on an academic and athletic scholarship. At UWA, Matthew was the place kicker in 2009 and after that season he transferred to Fort Hays State University in Kansas. He continued kicking and graduated with a B.S. in 2013.
After undergraduate school, Matthew enrolled at the Cumberland School of Law where he graduated in 2016. Between joining the District Attorney’s office and school, Matthew worked in private practice from 2017 to 2019.
Matthew is an avid sports fan with hobbies including golfing and mountain biking.

Primary Responsibilities: Child Support Enforcement Unit, Misdemeanor Prosecution and Rule 32 Petitions.
JEFFREY H. ROBERTS
ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY
Jeff Roberts was born and raised in Morgan County, Alabama. He graduated from Hartselle High School in 1982 and went on to receive a BA degree from the University of Alabama at Huntsville with Honors. Jeff received his law degree from the University Of Alabama School Of Law in 1989 and was in the top 20% of his class. While at the University he was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, and received the highest grade in Criminal Procedure.
Jeff entered private practice in 1989 until 1991 when he joined the Cullman County District Attorney's Office in 1991 until 1997. Jeff returned to private practice in 1997 and continued there until 2005 when he returned to the District Attorney's Office.
Jeff is a member of Commissioner of Angels division of Dixie Softball, coach of girls' softball and AYSO soccer. He enjoys golf and reading.
