The Victim Service Officer of the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office provides guidance for victims and their families through the difficult times associated with crimes and the process of the criminal judicial system.  The Victim Service Officer (VSO) provides advocacy and support to victims of crime.  The VSO works with victims and or their survivors of violent crimes such as Felony Assaults (physical or sexual), Murder, and Robberies.  Services provided by the VSO may include, but are not limited to:

  • Referrals to community agencies for assistance for victims of crime
  • Information about the status of the case
  • Identify and assist victims and witnesses for court appearances
  • Attend court hearings with victims and their families
